Director of SFAsia (full time)
This San Francisco based position is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual who possesses a passion for international development to join a high-profile economic development organization. GlobalSF in partnership with the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) is seeking an experienced Director to develop and manage a business attraction and retention effort for San Francisco focusing on companies in and from Asia, outside of China.
Develop and execute a marketing strategy focused on attracting Asean companies to San Francisco
Attract and recruit Asean businesses to San Francisco and develop and track qualified leads
Assist Asean companies in navigating the various regulations and requirements necessary to establish a business in San Francisco
Provide assistance and a range of professional services to assist inbound clients
Provide assistance and introductions to San Francisco-based firms seeking business opportunities in Asia, outside of China
Manage relationships with partner organizations; government and private sector entities in San Francisco; and State and Federal governments in the U.S. and Asia
Develop and deliver sector-focused San Francisco sales presentations
Manage reporting requirements
Requirements and Experience:
Candidate should have significant experience managing and implementing an economic development job growth program; excellent communication and presentations skills; and previous experience working in Asia, combined with the following requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business development position combining international experience
Native English speaker preferred, bilingually fluent in written and spoken in at least one Asian language
Proven experience as a client relationship manager
Bachelor’s college degree
iOS and social media skills
Well organized, self-starter, able to work independently
Business plan development, including program development and fundraising strategy
Prior live/work in Asean country a plus
